THE ART OF THREE
FAURÉ • RACHMANINOFF • SHOSTAKOVICH
Corda Piano Trio
The Corda Piano Trio showcases exceptional musicianship in their debut album, delivering a compelling and refined interpretation of pivotal piano trio repertoire. The album commemorates significant musical anniversaries by presenting three seminal works for piano trio. It marks the centennial of Gabriel Fauré’s penultimate composition - Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 120 - alongside Dmitri Shostakovich’s early, substantial work in the medium: Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor. Bridging these two is a youthful piano trio by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Piano Trio No. 1 in C minor, Op. 8, selected for its stylistic affinity and to honour the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
This carefully curated programme not only celebrates rich musical legacies but also highlights the native Serbian Trio’s versatility and deep connection to each composer’s unique voice. Fans of chamber music will find in this album a blend of historical significance and vibrant, heartfelt performance.
