Natalia Rehling

Polish-Austrian pianist Natalia Rehling (née Sawościanik) is renowned for her profound connection to Frédéric Chopin’s music. She is a laureate of many international piano competitions, including winning first prize at the 4th International Chopin Competition in Marianske Lazne and three special awards at the 14th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Her career has seen her perform across Europe, Asia and the USA, both solo and with orchestras. As a pianist, she draws on artistic impulses received from Ewa Pobłocka, Noel Flores, Johannes Kropfitsch, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Robert Levin, Andrzej Jasiński, Victor Merzhanov, Halina Czerny-Stefańska and Dominique Merlet. Her extensive repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music. Rehling made history by becoming the first person to record Chopin’s works on Vienna Kunsthistorisches Museum’s original Conrad Graf fortepiano (inv. no. SAM 570). Celebrated by critics around the globe as an “outstanding Chopin interpreter” and a “genius pianist, truly gifted”, she also teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and is the Vice President of the Vienna-based International Chopin Society. Rehling is a Yamaha artist.
