

Ratimir Martinovic
Ratimir Martinović is a Montenegrin pianist acclaimed for his exceptional dynamic range, brilliant technique, and unconventional interpretations. Martinović studied under Kemal Gekić at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Montenegro, where he now serves as a professor of piano. He has performed at over 700 concerts with over 60 orchestras in prestigious international venues such as the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Seoul Arts Center, and the Moscow International House of Music. He has appeared with the symphonic orchestras of Berlin, Istanbul, Mexico, Belgrade, Thailand, Helsingborg, Plovdiv, the chamber orchestras of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Kaliningrad, and the Viotti Orchestra, among many others. Martinović is a co-founder and director of the KotorArt International Festival. He is a winner of many domestic and international awards and honours.
Martinović made this recording of the Goldberg Variations during his Master’s studies and he performed the work at his final university recital. His interpretation displays a rare authenticity and freshness, which can finally be enjoyed by a wider audience.
